Yellow City Community Outreach building tiny homes for the homeless
AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) -
A local organization gives a homeless man a second chance by taking him off the streets and putting him in a home of his own.
Since the beginning of 2016 Yellow City Community Outreach (YCCO) has been working on raising money and gaining resources to build homes for the homeless.
On Sunday, Oct. 9, that dream became a reality and they were finally able to put a hammer to a nail. YCCO and volunteers got to work and started building the basis for their first tiny home.
The home is being built for Mark Denning, who was homeless with nowhere to go. Denning was later found by Kit Rudd who invited him into his home until they can give him a place of his own.
YCCO didn't do it alone. They was able raise over $5,000 of funds and resources to make the home into a reality.
